Making Your Bed

The faerie in the first card is blindfolded and raises a knife. In her left hand she holds some scales. What I like most about this card are the little spirals on her blue cushion. Apparently, they symbolise the cycles in life. For everything we do or say, there is a result. This appears in the 'bed we have made for ourselves' already and will have an effect on the one we continue to lay in.

For today, I think that Justice is a positive figure, as she sits with the 8 of Pentacles. For me, this is a card of learning new skills and perfecting them. As I approach new work, I will learn new things and this duo tells me that they will have their place in my future. In terms of the 'bed' I occupy in the present, previous work has had an effect. I just heard that I won the illustration job and I have also got my first meeting for another project in the diary for next week. Both of these results are based on previous hard work and connections I made. I guess you could call it karma.

I woke up early and popped down to my friend's house for a cup of coffee and a gossip. We took a walk out for an hour and then she cooked me something to eat when we got back. It is really cold out today and I wouldn't be surprised if it snows. After coming home, my mother and I went straight out to do a bit of shopping. I bought some paper to try out my new printer, but am disappointed that is not printing block-colour particularly well. I have tried messing about with the settings but it has made little difference. My boyfriend is not coming over this evening, so he will take a look at it for me on Thursday.

I miss my boyfriend when I don't see him, but I also appreciate evenings like this. I plan to get on with my freelance sewing tomorrow so might just play about with the cards a little this evening and have an early night. If she is home, I might try and call my friend for a chat, since it was her birthday yesterday and she has been feeling a bit down.
