For today, I wanted to draw from something different, so I am revisiting Chuck Spezzano's Archetypes and Shadows deck. I have only used the pack a handful of times. It is a deck that ever so slightly creeps me out, and that is what often prevents me from choosing it for readings. I don't have many decks which do that. It might be due to the archetypes and shadows which Spezzano has chosen to illustrate the deck with, since some of them are pretty close to the bone during times of vulnerability.Today's pull comes from the archetype section of the 90-card pack and is simply entitled Angel. In the way that I see it, this card looks at the angelic qualities in us humans, rather than suggesting the guidance of a guardian angel or being of light. Angels are considered as beings who serves God by acting as a messenger, carrying the prayers of humans to him and his answers back to us. As a personality trait, we might see this archetype in someone who displays kindness and is selfless. Depending on how we view the card, this could be perceived as charity or could even describe someone who's generosity and time is taken advantage of. Without wanting to appear big-headed, this archetype could easily be wrapped up in my own actions of late, since I have done more than a few favours for friends in their times of need.
As I have mentioned before, my ideas about angels are different to those you might find in many books and card decks. I simply see angels (for want of a better word) as the results of either the good or bad things we do from day to day; a good angel might be the acknowledgement of our well meaning thoughts, words, and actions. When we send out positive energy, then you could say that we send out positive angels into the world. At those times where we open up to light and all that is good, it might seem as though we have an angel looking over us or guiding us in the right direction. It would appear that my boyfriend has such a guide looking out for him at the moment, but really, he is getting back all that he has put in to certain situations.
I have lost count of the amount of times that my boyfriend has come home, irritated by some of the members of his team at work. Most often, it is because they are lazy. At other times, it is because they throw so many sick days, turn up to late, or leave too early. He is very good at his job, but more often than not, he gets through his work quicker than the others and ends up being asked to help them with theirs.
Yesterday, he sent me a message from his office. All of his team were asked to log into their computers for a conference call, due to an announcement that was about to be made. It would seem that the company are selling off some areas of their business and are making cuts. This would lead to redundancies. Out of the lot of them, five were made redundant, and the others are hanging by the skin of their teeth until further notice. Only my boyfriend and another girl got letters to say that they were staying in employment and need not worry about their jobs. This has nothing to do with angels, but it has everything to do with the selfless way my boyfriend has behaved in his work. I hate to sound smug in this situation, but after the amount of time his colleagues have sat around doing nothing, 'worked' from home, and have blatantly called in sick when they are well, there is something quite satisfying in seeing karma pop round and knock them off of their chairs in this way. It makes a pleasant change to see both them and him get what they deserve, due to the kind of angel energy they have already sent out. Apparently, the current atmosphere in the office is not a good one.
