Abrupt Endings

I was a little concerned when I drew today's first card this morning. I had been searching around online since yesterday, trying to find out some news about the woman in the accident behind my house, but had come up with nothing; at the moment, all that anyone wants to write about is the local street parties and celebrations relating to the royal wedding. However, I did find out a little news this evening. The woman is apparently in a critical condition and was lifted to a hospital in London. At least she is alive.

As I said when the death-like card turned up last time, it needn't always be as dramatic as death itself, even though that is something I wouldn't rule out. Here, it simply brings an ending to something, and accompanied with the card of friendship, it rests somewhere in a social situation.

I kind of expected the friendship card to turn up today. It seems to arise whenever there is some kind of pre-arranged get together. My friend invited us over to hers for a barbecue this afternoon, and as with one of the other recent days that the card turned up, we huddled together on blankets in her garden. As much as the company was good, I felt pretty wiped out today. Neither my boyfriend or I drank alcohol, but I began to feel tired after a few hours, so after a while, I simply smeared myself in sun cream and laid back on the blanket with my wrapped up coat as a pillow. There were shadows of my chronic fatigue in the tiredness and I didn't particularly feel up to conversation, which required too much effort. In the end, we cut our visit short, being the first to leave, and drove home. Other friends suggested that we go out and see some bands with them in the evening if I felt better, but we declined that and watched a Jason Stratham film instead, which was actually better than I thought it would be. I think that this is where today's first card comes into play. Even though I hadn't felt tired when I pulled it in the morning, it's wash of lethargy ended our time with friends abruptly.
