I pulled this card late last night, asking the deck about work. I received the 7 of Spades, which shows an illustration of the Cornish Rex with an hour glass. The Cornish Rex is distinguished from other breeds by it's extremely soft, wavy coat and racy body type. As the name implies, the breed originated from Cornwall in the UK. It is the result of a spontaneous natural mutation, which occurred in 1950. This began with the birth of Kallibunker, who looked quite different to his brothers and sisters. The fifth cat was born with a curly coat and whiskers and was the original Cornish Rex.
From what I have read, the Cornish Rex is an active cat and is known to behave like a kitten well into adulthood. I wonder if this has something to do with the hour glass which sits beside it. This little cat seems to cheat age by remaining alert and agile.
The 7 of Spades is a card of loss, so it is interesting that the hour glass drains empty before our eyes in this picture. When I pulled the card last night, I couldn't think what it might be referring to, but this morning, it all made sense. I changed my telephone number last week. I had begun to send it to some of my friends, but completely forgot about businesses and my agency head office. On calling my agency today, I realised that they had been trying to call me about a days work and had ended up giving it to someone else. Yup, as things go right now, that is some loss.
