I listened to a blogging friend's audio post last night and it inspired me to have a go at creating a spread for myself. I have done this in the past, but not with much thought or success. I usually scan books and look online for tarot layouts, but most often, they are far too in depth and cover many angles that I consider not necessarily needed. With this in mind, I created Favole's Heart. I think the simpler the spread, the better the answer.
The first position in the centre of the spread is Favole's Heart. This looks at the current situation or focuses on your question. You might call it the heart of the matter and where we currently stand. We may sometimes think we are in a different place to where we actually are.
Positions 2 and 3 reach up diagonally and make a three-card line of their own with the first position in between them. The Last Corridor looks at the past's influence on your question and The Next Corridor focuses on where things are headed.
Card 4 sits in the position of The Spirit of Ezequiel. Ezequiel is in love with Favole, so this placement is favourable in the spread. It describes help and support that we may not know we have but can draw on.
Card 5 sits in the position of The Darkness of Ebony. Ebony is the witch who resides within the darkness of the woods, planning revenge on those who have abandoned her. This placement represents things which we need to look out for and which might trip us up. It could be a place of revenge or where spite and deception originate from.
The final position in the spread is called Sacha's Seed. The lost little boy in the paintings of Victoria Frances has been chosen as The Fool in The Favole Tarot, so this final placement looks at new opportunities which should be taken advantage of. The card in the Next Corridor position might be currently heading in one direction, but this sixth card could suggest an alternative avenue or choice to be taken. Is it a better option? That's for you to decide.
I am yet to try this spread out, but hope to a little later in the evening. However, feel free to give it a go yourself if you want to. I would love to hear how Favole's Heart works for others.

I love this. Your spread sounds great. It's also gorgeous and evocative. I'll try it out and see how it goes. I never know how spreads will work out for me, either. I tend to get ADHD when I'm using a spread unless it's extremely familiar to me, but sometimes new spreads offer unique insights where we least expect them...
ReplyDeleteI think this is a beautifully designed spread, which I'm sure will work very well. Looking forward to reading what you make of it :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to hear how you get on with it, Hannah. I tried to give it a 'story' feel but without being too complicated. I don't design spreads often, but when I do, I limit them strictly to the barest information I need to know.
ReplyDeleteThanks IW. I did lay out the cards last night, but it was a bit too late to type up my response. I am not always so good at putting larger readings into words, but I might have a go a bit later.
