I kind of forgot about yesterday's draw by the evening. I suppose that I just didn't expect that Queen of Swords to get in touch about work and trusted my bad experience with agents and employers above my skills as a tarot reader; it's not a hard thing to do. However, by about 9pm, an email popped into my box from an old client, asking for a reading. She probably contacts me every year or so, but with each twelve months, I am never expecting it. I instantly thought of my draw and how the cards suggested a woman getting in touch with an opportunity of work. I wrote back and said I would sort out a date to read for her.

For today, my key card is the Page of Swords. This card has always reminded me of a guy I used to work with. It used to turn up in readings about work, warning me that he was distrustful. He was one of those guys who would try his best to befriend or date whoever was the most useful for his career, and then drop them the moment their power was no longer beneficial. I watched him do it a good few times, and even though I was polite to him on the main, there was little love lost between us when one of his conquests got him a job overseas. Others in the team were swayed by his big smile and good looks, but I never trusted him. The Page of Swords was an indication that he was talking behind my back and sneaking his way into my bosses favour. Once again, the tarot was right. Once he was promoted, I don't think my boss ever heard from him again.
It does concern me a little to see this page today. As well as representing a keen mind (for either good or bad intention), he is also known for being a messenger of disappointing news. Maybe his deliveries are of the small kind for today, suggesting a little white lie or indescression that I am being told.
Because of the three card readings being read as a story here, I am not quite so bothered by the 10 of Wands at their start. Tens, after all, lead to the new, and here, the burden that the card carries is rounded up with The World. The dancer in the trump looks over at the bent over man and says 'hey, pass me a couple of those sticks'. Interestingly, I remember that Waite mentions the town in the distance of the 10 of Wands in The Pictorial Key to the Tarot. It is indeed somewhere that the guy can unload his baggage, but once there, it might suggest that the burden is given to someone else.
The 8 of Pentacles is a card I am getting used to seeing and quite enjoy. I am seeing this bloke as being in his studio. I completed another part of my creative review last night and I am pleased as punch with the results. Without giving too much away, I sat and looked at what I had made for ages before I went to bed. It's a little world of fantasy for me and I am kind of surprised by how smoothly the whole thing went. I really put some effort into making it. Usually, I can get myself into a state when things don't work out as I would wish them to and push things aside, but I cracked on with it and finished it. In fact, unusually, I have finished two small creative projects in as many days. Maybe the 8 of Pentacles sees me back in the studio, starting on another.

I love your tarot cards with sticky notes! They're so visually arresting and really helpful in showing how you read the cards. I've gleaned some cool things from seeing your interpretations already.
ReplyDeleteAnd grats on all the household fix-ups. That's going to be a huge relief to get all that done, and also a feeling of satisfaction.
Big Ole Hugs,
