Trampled Underfoot

I can never resist this tarot when I find it in my drawer. It's the Radiant Rider Waite, which my boyfriend bought for me for my birthday last year. It is so bright and sunshiny and I particularly love the use of purple in it's palette.

For the second day running, I receive Death. Is this the tarot's way of trying to tell me something? A lot of people don't like the plastic over laminated cards put out by US Games these days, but here, the Death card feels luxurious between the fingers and I love the brightness of it's colouring. What has the skeleton turned up to tell me about? Something is over, or needs to be, and this guy tramples upon whoever stands in his way so that he can bring me the news.

A friend rang today to organise a meeting about work. It's the day's work I was talking about before, so that made me feel that bit better about things. My general outlook is slipping again and I am feeling a little defeated through hearing nothing back from the agents and employers I've written to. I know that something like a creative day's work will get me buzzing again and I need it. Our house was full today; more work was being done on the kitchen and three surprise visitors from Newcastle turned up around lunchtime. It was lovely to see them, but I feel almost embarrassed for being at home here when I know I should be out working. I feel a bit trampled underfoot, like the poor king in this card.

  1. It looks like a beautiful rendition of the RWS.

  2. A lot of people find the characters sullen and details lost, but what it might lose there, it makes up by being bold and positive. It;s got a very cheery outlook and makes a great reading deck. To be honest, I don't notice a sullenness in the characters.
